Tom Supnet started his Jiu-Jitsu training in 1994 after watching the first Ultimate Fighting Championship. "We originally traveled to far away cities for seminars and training. We then dissected and polished the techniques in our garages to keep it alive"

Tom's first year of formal training was under Lowell Anderson, a former instructor for Rorion Gracie, one of the original founders of the UFC and the person responsible for bringing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the United States.

Tom switched over to the No-Gi style of Jiu-Jitsu under under Craig Kukuk, the first american to recieve a Black Belt from the infamous Gracie Family. Boise finally had a Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt teaching classes.

After 2 years assisting in Mr Kukuk's classes, Craig decided to stop teaching so it was time for Tom to merge his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with his favorite sport, Mixed Martial Arts. He created Boise Jiu-Jitsu to develop a No-Gi "Reality Tested" style that continually evolves through hard work, innovation and Teamwork. "We know what works for sport Jiu-Jitsu and what works for Mixed Martial Arts". With all seriousness aside, it's a lot of fun too!

Boise Jiu-Jitsu was founded in 2004 to address the need for a practical self-defense system here in the Treasure Valley. "For many years I had tried several traditional martial arts but didn't really come away with the confidence needed to defend myself if I really had to". Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was the answer.

Our success has everything to do with the type of students we attract and the environment in which we train. It's not so much the facility and equipment, as much as it is the way we train and how we all get along.

Our results speaks for itself..... We have a very high success rate in Mixed Martial Arts and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu competition and a reputation for quality, character and sportsmanship! Primal Tribe Fighting Club and Boise Jiu-Jitsu has produced many Champions!

You're welcome to stop by any time to chat or watch a class. Bring your gear and you can try a free class. It's a fun, friendly environment and we accomodate any and all skill levels. You don't have to be an athlete at this school, but if you aspire to be a professional competitor or Champion, we can take you there too.
