 Kristie Doss wins the women's 150 pound Title by "KO"
 against Team Hardcore's Jessica Joyner!
 
 Kristie controlled the striking and set up a takedown in
 the first but ran out of time as she was trying to drop
 elbows from side control.
 
 Rounds 2 and 3 were controlled by Kristie in the
 striking as she backed Jessica up against the cage but
 couldn't get out of the clinch to take her down again. 
 
 The 4th round however was quickly stopped when
 Kristie connected for a solid knockdown as she
 finished with a flurry up against the cage while
 jessica was down!
 
 Very tough performance from Jessica Joyner.
 she was threatening with chokes up against the cage

Boise Jiu-Jitsu's Competition Team made a huge impression at last weekends grappling tournament put on by
Team Harcore.
Left -to- Right: Elmar Umarov, Jeremy Siegert, Kyle Hinkle, Josh Wick, Tom Supnet (Coach), Keegan Orvis
Congratulations to Elmar Umarov and Kyle Hinkle. Both went undefeated and won their divisions. Josh Wick and
Keegan Orvis both went 2-1. Keegan had to overcome a 0-1 start but came on strong to win his last two.
He came up with a nice guillotine just as he was taken down with a tough body slam.
Special thanks to Jeremy Siegert for stepping up into the intermediate level. I think his coach picked a bad division
to put him in so wouldn't beat up the smaller Primal Triber's.

Disappointed with Kimbo Slice! PDF Print E-mail

I was really disappointed with Kimbo's lack of performance on the Ultimate Fighter. His punches were good but he couldn't really let them fly since he had to worry about being taken to the ground. I always tell people "the better your ground game is, the better your stand-up will be". If you're confident with your ground game, you can let your strikes go because you don't have to worry as much about being taken down.

Primal Tribe Victorious! ( Kick Boxing ) PDF Print E-mail
  Josh Wick and Nic Wall were victorious in their kickboxing matches Saturday night at Sidekicks Black Belt Academy.
  
  Josh Fought a very game Michael Villareal who was much taller and heavier. He had to break away from the clinch several times to keep his opponent's weight off of him. Eventually Josh would out strike his opponent and connected with a couple headkicks with one of them straight to the nose. Josh wins by TKO in the 2nd round.
 
  Nic Wall had to deal with some tough kicks in the 1st round from Jeffery Jalon who looked to have Muay Thai experience. Nic closed the distance to get into punching range as he started to dismantle his foe with solid punches. This was a mental victory as much as physical because Nic had to overcome a kick to his **%#.. undercarriage. It took a very solid mental performance for Nic to continue through the 3rd round but he finished strong with combinations as the bell sounded.

in Boise, Idaho. Aric utilized a well rounded game plan with kicks, crisp punching and technical
maneuvering on the ground. A well deserved "Fight of the Night" rating.....
